Semperviva Yoga is organizing “Sing with your Heart for Haiti with Daphne Tse” - a Kirtan fundraiser for the earthquake survivors in Haiti.
Join Daphne and friends for this powerful community gathering as we sing and chant to the Divine! We’ll sing sacred songs from many tradi- tions honoring the Shakti that is within each of us. We’ll open our hearts and join our voices together to raise money for those desperately in need in Haiti. No singing or musical experience needed! If you can talk, you can sing… so join us and bring a friend or two. Proceeds will go to the Yele Earthquake Relief Fund.

The Path of Yoga:
We will explore the attitude of Yoga that enables us to live in integrity with our True Self. This attitude helps cultivate deeper awareness and diminish the things that darken the heart. It prevents us from creating and re-living patterns that lead to more suffering in the future. This will also enrich our understanding of the cycle and law of Karma.
We will learn how to live more consciously by integrating this attitude in every aspect of our lives through the eight-limbed path of Yoga. We will learn how subtle impressions are created and how we can free ourselves of cyclic habits or patterns. We will learn the way of Yoga that helps us attain joy, experience bliss and discover our innate freedom.
Sunday, February 28th 2010; 10:00am-4:00pm
Tuition: $75
To register, please contact: Harmony Family Wellness Centre

The Yoga-Sutras of Patañjali is the foundational text of all Yoga practice and philosophy. It is a culmination of the wisdom that was passed down for thousands of years in ancient India and compiled by Patañjali around 200 B.C.E. into the Yoga-Sutras. Imbued with experiential intelligence, these pearls of wisdom enable us to be attuned to our true essence.
Yoga philosophy views the human body as a holistic entity and thus integrates every aspect of the human personality- the body, breath, mind and the spirit in its practice. The Yoga Sutras are the spring from which the essence of the tradition is expressed in the various yoga practices we see today.
Facilitator:
Arunima studied the Yoga Sutras in the Krishnamacharya tradition in Chennai, India and continues to study Yoga philosophy and Sanskrit in Vancouver BC. She has been studying for over 3 years and practicing the teachings from a young age. She explores the depth of this knowledge in her own practice and shares this traditional knowledge in a contemporary context. With a background in Psychology, she explores how the practices mentioned in the Yoga-Sutras help strengthen the mind to achieve harmony and balance in our lives.
